I worked with Under Glass Framing in San Francisco to create a special way of framing my mosaics so that you can see the back-side of the work. From the back-side of the mosaics, you can see the vertical Lego bricks used for support.
The photograph I took of Coit Tower from my apartment window that I used to make the mosaic.
The painting I digitizes to create the nude mosaic.
The digital/acrylic painting I based the Golden Gate Bridge mosaic from. This piece sold before I came up with the ideas of creating mosaics out of Lego bricks.
The view of a mosaic from the top.
My method for building a large-scale mosaic. I create a digital printout with a pixel aspect ratio of 3-2 from a photograph, print it out, and use tape to mark my place. For the mosaic, I use a live of black legos for support and to keep track of my place on the build.
Some of my art including the nude mosaic on display at Live Worms Gallery in San Francisco.
Every lego builder needs to separate legos into categories. To save space so I could work live in a gallery, I mixed 2 to contrasting colors in the same bin.
Hanging the mosaics at an art show.
